This year the celebration will be held on what would have been Dr. King’s 89th Birthday.
There will be a march starting at 10:00 a.m. leaving the Independence Train Depot. The march line up will start at 9:15 a.m. The program will be held at the Zion Travelers M.B.C. immediately following the march. The program will start at 10:30 a.m. Refreshments will be served after the program.
Rev. Phillip Williams Sr., pastor of the Oak Ridge M. B.C., Kentwood, LA will bring the commemorative address. The Grand Marshal for this year’s event will be Dr. Alecia Cyprian-Porter, Chief Executive Officer of Southeast Community Health Systems.
